Why was the ēKOCOMFORT® system developed? How was ēKOCOMFORT® technology developed? |
Administered by the Heating Refrigeration Air Conditioning Institute of Canada, a consortium was formed, made up of manufacturing companies, utilities, industry associations and government departments, to collaborate efforts in producing affordable, high-performance integrated heating systems primarily for residential use. Six manufacturing groups, supported by a network of contractors and subcontractors across Canada, participated in the initial product development, offering their time, expertise and resources to ensure a high standard of reliability and quality. |
Product development included field trials in 150 Canadian homes and extensive lab testing. ēKOCOMFORT® systems are supported by long-term manufacturer warranties and a certified industry training program. The ēKOCOMFORT® system is the result of a major partnership between government and the private sector in Canada. Federal government departments, led by Natural Resources Canada, with a mandate to improve energy efficient technologies, worked closely with utilities, manufacturers, industry associations and others, to produce this family of products.
